PARSNIP: A STARTUP

Parsnip teaches you to make incredible food and tracks your skills as you progress. A "DuoLingo for cooking" app, we teach the whys and hows of cooking to empower beginner cooks. Designs you currently see in-app are created by me!

MY ROLE

I started as a "gen z" UX consultant for the team to gauge general interest in something like a "learning to cook" app, to give design feedback, and to figure out usability pain points of their existing app.

I quickly became passionate about Parsnip and now do the following:

Conduct user interviews

Reaching out to users, scheduling interviews, creating a moderator guide and discussion questions, collecting notes, analyzing findings, presenting to the rest of the team.

Conduct usability testing

Reaching out to users, scheduling sessions, creating a moderator guide, user tasks and workable prototypes, collecting notes, analyzing findings, presenting to the rest of the team.

Design in Figma

Creating user flows, improving the user experience, iterating on new features and designs, creating prototypes, fixing usability issues.

Social media filming

Approaching strangers in NYC to ask cooking questions, asking them to play with Parsnip for money, recording real reactions.

Organize brainstorms

Initiating brainstorming sessions on Miro to ideate on new features, product ideas, and the future state of Parsnip with the co-founders and content writer.

Website updates on Webflow

Refreshing content on the website, including social media links, team bios, awards from Product Hunt, and real user quotes.

Jira ticketing

Submitting tickets to the dev team on jira to communicate bugs, new features and their functionalities, linking Figma flows and prototypes to best show the dev team how ideas should be implemented.

Beat the team in online Catan

Heck yeah I did :)
